Computer Bugs

From the Feedback Box:
Hello librarians! I've noticed that in Information Commons some computers have bugs in them--literal bugs. Insects. It's particular computer spaces--they get aroused by the sound of typing or something and crawl all over you. Usually it's little flies but often it's mozzies and that's troublesome. It's happened to me several times--I keep hoping they're isolated incidents but they're not--a couple of the computers here may have a little infestation. You might want to do a little pesticide spraying around some computers in IC as well as both couches. It's pretty gross. Thanks!

Library Response:

There will be a scheduled Library Pest Control Service happening on the 18th of October 2013 between the hours of 6pm and 12am.
Most of the library will be closed during this time however there will be some disruption to the Information Commons so that the area can be treated. We plan to do this area last so that the disruption will be minimal.
The primary purpose of the pest control is to monitor and treat as required any pests that may affect your library visit. This is part of the libraries new Integrated Pest Management program designed to keep the library free of pests without the need for intrusive widespread chemical applications.
This should put an end to these computer bugs!
