Cleanliness of computers

From the Suggestion Box:

I have a concern regarding the cleanliness of the computer keyboards/desks and mouse. My concern is that, they do not seem to be cleaned with any sort of anti-bacterial cleaning formula. The sate of the desk stations are covered with food particles, hair, and other materials. I fear the chances of a gastro or flu outbreak are high. I would like the desk stations cleaned by spray bottle fluid and vacuumed is possible twice a week. Or if the library can provide anti bacterial wipes/gel close to each computer station for users to use. Thank you.

Library Response:

The Library Rovers regularly wipe over the computer monitors, mouse and keyboards. However as the library computers are high use PCs it is near to impossible to always ensure the cleanliness of the equipment.
If you are concerned about the condition of a mouse or keyboard please see the staff at the Service Desk on the ground floor and they will be able to provide you with an anti-bacterial cleaning wipe so that you can wipe over the equipment. These wipes cannot be used on computer screens.
Kind regards,
